The TRAX Store Management System cashier counter is engineered for rapid item registration using handheld barcode scanners, touchscreen category filters, or dynamic weight calculations.

1. Rapid Item Registration Methods #

Cashiers can add products to the active bill through three integrated methods:

  • Instant Barcode Scanning: Point your handheld scanner at any product barcode. The system captures the code and immediately adds the item with a single beep (thanks to automatic carriage return detection).
  • Live Name / SKU Search: Type product letters or partial numbers in the top search bar (name_or_barcode).
  • Visual Category Touch Tiles: Tap category filter pills across the top (All, Beverages, Bakery, Produce, Dairy...) to filter product cards, then tap any product photo to add it directly to the active cart.

2. Handling Items Sold by Weight (Produce & Bulk Goods) #

When an item is configured to sell by weight (e.g., fresh fruit, vegetables, bulk nuts, butchery):

  1. Tap the product tile on the screen.
  2. TRAX POS automatically launches the Enter Weight dialog modal.
  3. Type the measured weight on the keypad (e.g., 1.45 kg).
  4. The unit measurement badge (kg, g, pcs) dynamically adapts according to product settings.
  5. Click Add to Cart (or press Enter). The system calculates:
Weight × Price per Unit = Line Item Subtotal.

3. Out-of-Stock Warnings #

If inventory tracking is enabled for a product and available stock is zero, the product card displays a red stock badge and alerts the cashier upon selection to prevent overselling.
